The Bite of '87

Alright, everyone knows what the Bite of '87 is. It was the occurrence sometime before the first Five Nights at Freddy's game, where a person was attacked by an animatronic and in the event had a damaged or lost frontal lobe. According to Phone Guy, they survived.

Now, things are left as vague as usual with Five Nights at Freddy's, so there are tons of ways this could have happened! Do you go with the usual and say that The Mangle did it? Do you stick with the traditional idea of Foxy being the perpetrator? Did Chica (LET'S EAT!!!) do it? What about Freddy? Are you all alone in thinking that Toy Bonnie did it?

Alright, my theory is pretty simple, but has some loopholes that need to be filled in for someone to believe it.




I am very much in the minority by believing that Golden Freddy is indeed the perpetrator of the Bite of '87. Heck, he wasn't even ROAMING AROUND when it happened, according to Five Nights at Freddy's 2.

The first thing to be explained: The Marionette has some wires out of place. It wasn't just bitterness and resentment that gave it hatred towards people: it was created with some serious problems with it. It didn't like people at all upon being born, preferring the din of the music box. Hence, it perpetrated many murders, though in indirect ways: ruining a structure (like a maze) and causing children on it to suffer injury and death, another involving a sand bag, and generally being a mischievous and sinister thing.

Phone Guy and Golden Freddy were the only ones who ever suspected the Marionette. As Phone Guy said, it could think, and go anywhere (he never liked that puppet thing). The animatronics had advanced AIs and personalities, leaving Golden Freddy a serious, behind-the-scenes type guy who was never in a band or having his own show, like Foxy's pirate act. He was also the type who had it in him to really suspect others; Freddy was too quick to trust others to ever have or voice suspicions.



The Purple Man was the one who caused some murders, but not all of them: he killed the crying child and was behind the incident with the five children. The Marionette caused less publicized murders.

Now, Golden Freddy and Phone Guy distrusted the Marionette and knew what had occurred the whole time. They disliked the Marionette. That puppet also directly led to the destruction of The Mangle. Her head is cut in half (the endoskeletic portion hangs around, the other is in her mask) and that is something that children couldn't do; the Marionette has claws and therefore was able to do it. Mangle was too upset and reluctant to admit that she'd been broken in the first place. GF saw that and had confronted the puppet, though the puppet was generally dodgy and indirect with GF.

The week of Jeremy Fitzgerald's employment came about. In the middle of the week, a spare Golden Freddy suit ("a yellow one") was used by the Purple Man to kidnap and kill five children. The Marionette made sure that the GF suit was accessible.

People hated GF afterwards, and GF hated the Marionette.

Then, a murderer (with keys the Marionette had dropped) attempted to carry out another murder: by taking a few children into the backroom as the place was going out of business.

Golden Freddy was there, awake, watching the whole thing carry out. When he was supposed to be off, turned off in the backroom to allow the last birthday party to take place, he jumped in and intervened:

CHOMP.

The murder was stopped. Blood was everywhere, a skull bitten past and a brain visible. Everyone present was traumatized, though the Marionette watched on with the unchangeable grin on its face as Golden Freddy was made notorious, hated by all, considered dangerous...

Now, this is filled with speculation and such on my part, but you know what? There is some evidence to back up my ideas.

     1. On the first game, when you enter 1987 on the custom night AI, you get Golden Freddy to appear, crashing your game. Not Foxy: Golden Freddy.

     2. On said image, the one which he crashes the game with, you can clearly see, on the lower part of the muzzle and jaw, you can clearly see some scarlet substance... blood.
     3. On the Hall Corner image (the Golden Freddy poster) there is a handprint over Golden Freddy's eye.

     4. Phone Guy "never liked that puppet thing" and said that it "thinks, and can get anywhere." He knows the animatronics better than most (or, well, anyone).

     5. The Purple Man has a security badge and a phone. But the Phone Guy is a loveable dork who loves animatronics and life (LISTEN TO THE ADORABLE MAN).

I cant help but think it was The Mangle who did it
The way he attacks you,The way all the toy animatronics were scrapped.
Makes a lot of sense to me i cant think of anyone else doing it

Yeah, that's my second choice and (I believe) the most popular theory behind it nowadays.

Foxy must have did it.....i mean mangle technically foxy just drawed on by kids.

Oh and i was just thinking:is foxy's jaw really broken cause when he attacks you in the first few frames his mouth is closed AND THEN he opens it as he gets his whole body in the office

Foxy chews evidently as he runs through the hallway at you in the first game.

The Mangle wasn't drawn on, but taken apart. She probably could have harbored resentment and besides, she was out and about (while Foxy wasn't) when the Bite happened, by all appearances. Her attack is her biting the front part of your head off, too.

Phone guy told us the players during the talk about mangle.
"I think the employees refers to him as Mangle."

Mangle is part of Ladies' Night with the Chicas. Phone Guy is great, but come on, he's the same guy who calls the Marionette (who does lack an official name) "that puppet thing."

It isn't really Ladies night as people seen males pop up more then the females lol.

Oh, I disagree with that statement. Foxy is the only male who's active, and that's because no matter what AI he is at, he still comes.

Yeah. I think evidence is strongly on the side of the female thing... Phone Guy isn't exactly the most reliable when it comes to names. Remember "that puppet thing?"
